The dojo where I take karate and go to a meditation group has a peace garden and its…well…very peaceful haha. The garden and the dojo it self are great escapes for me. I can leave all of my trivial life issues behind me for a few hours and focus on my body and well-being. And everyone is so welcoming there; it’s only been a few months and they’re like a family to me. I love this place.

Today I went to an art gallery with a friend. I had a lot of fun, it’s hard for me to find people that actually have common-interests. It was a different experience too, there was a lot of deviant pieces and the whole warehouse was full of darker themed art n shit. So that topped off my day after getting a car upgrade as a graduation gift. I really was overwhelmed, I still am, like it was just a blessing. I never really ask for things, so I’m always surprised I suppose. I had a great day.

I couldn’t think of a picture to exactly portray this feeling, but I noticed that I have become more confident and generally stronger since starting karate. My reflexes have definitely increased and I feel more agile. I feel healthier physically and mentally too. Ever since that incident it seems like I’ve really lived in fear of my surroundings rather than being aware and responsive to my surroundings.
This is definitely something I needed.

A little comical, but I locked my keys in the car today. Luckily I had my back window cracked enough to slide a hanger in. A guy from the dojo was helping me and suggested that I keep my spare door key in my wallet like him. Smart idea.
